Working her way steadily forward throughout the feature,
Starting tenth in the feature, McQueen took to the high side, passing a couple of cars as the green flag unfurled. By the midway point on lap 15, McQueen was running sixth when Cory Kruseman crashed on the backstretch, losing debris. McQueen and then fifth-place Brent Camarillo ran over some debris.
McQueen paced the field for two silent laps in memory of her mother who passed away earlier in the week. After starting seventh in the third heat, McQueen surged to fourth place in Turn 1 of the opening lap where she remained for the duration of the Heat, setting up a direct transfer to the feature. With a heavy wind and less than stellar track conditions, McQueen challenged Robby Josett for a couple laps, wisely settling in at fourth since the track was not conducive to passing at the time. After five strong runs, all top tens, including one feature victory to open the season, McQueen leads both the BCRA Dirt points and USAC-Western States points. Next up for McQueen Racing are the Saturday, May 14 and May 28 VRA Midget series races at the 1/5-mile Ventura Raceway in
